MACALLAN WHISKEY BLACK SERIES
The darkness reflects both the character of the spirit, and the nature of the mysterious warehouse crannies in which the rare casks rested until the Master Whisky Maker deemed them worthy of this attention. Macallan Rare Cask - luxury single malt whiskey without age, has expanded its line 1824 Masters Series Macallan distillery in 2014. Famous for their use of ex-Sherry casks, Macallan has become one of the worlds most. Taken from less than one hundred first fill sherry casks of European and American oak, this divine single malt spirit is rightly ensconced in a beautifully crafted black bottle and elegant black presentation box. The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 in Craigellachie, Moray. This line is bottled in Lalique crystal decanters and is priced in the thousands.

PRODUCTION DETAILS: The Macallan is not known for peaty whiskies, so The Macallan Rare Cask Black is a rare gift indeed, part of the producer's 1824 Masters Series. The Macallan M Black is a rarity among Macallan bottles in that it has a smokier profile. There is therefore a Master of Wood, who ensures the oak containers are sourced, crafted, toasted, and seasoned to remarkably special standards. As Macallan whiskies take their magnificent and entirely natural characters and colours from the wood in which they are aged, the casks are key to this producer's quality. The Macallan M Black M Black evolves the highly expressive aesthetic of Fabien Barons creative vision that makes its statement in M, in black crystal form. DESCRIPTION A Macallan with a surprisingly distinctive attitude, Rare Cask Black is a whisky unlike any other Macallan today. Flavour notes of warming wood spices open to dark chocolate and ginger, with a rare, lingering, and characterful peat trace. The smoke-infused spirit matured in these sherry seasoned oak casks has gathered distinction and depth over decades. PRODUCER: The Macallan Distillers Ltd was founded in the early 1800s by a barley farmer and school teacher named Alexander Reid, and is now a subsidiary of the Edrington Group. There remain at The Macallan Estate rare, black-ended casks holding peated Macallan. The Macallan Rare Cask Blend is a whisky matured from less than 100 casks at the distillers famously dark warehouses. Taste: Rich and complex, deep and balanced, with ripe plum and brown sugar Christmas cake character gradually giving way to an earthier, peatier profile, before a long finish with hints of candied ginger, dark chocolate, and leaf pile smoke.Aroma: Classic Speyside scents of buttered scones with fruity jams are layered with richer spice and smoke echoes.
